ZZZZZZZzzzzzzz Boring boring boring three words to describe Calvin Klein resort 2010. Anemic looking girls floated down the runway in wispy hessian looking sacks and other gloomy pieces of clothing. The collection consisted of some really impractical things, including see though pants, (so ugly not even Lady Gaga would wear them and we all know Lady Gaga’s view on pants), see though flimsy tops that made nipples look so pointy that they had to be a OH&S issue (I’m surprised no one got a stab wound). Excuse me please! Did someone vomit up hot rainbow with gigantic head ribbons?! This is what Diane von Furstenberg did for her Resort 2010 collection – a collection that was fun, feisty and oh so hot, occasionally too much. It was a Rio disco on the runway! DvF cut her dresses short and sensual, some with one shoulder, and kept to a party palette of tropical hues. Polkadots were a recurring motif, rendered in oversize prints and shimmying confetti paillettes. It was a spirited Rio romp, only lacking caipirinhas and a cabana boy or two.
