Channeling Bowie at Gucci NY Fashion Week

‘Backstage at Gucci, the girls channeled David Bowie in a look defined by rainbow-hued eyes and slicked-back hair.

“Very strong and powerful” is how makeup artist Pat McGrath described makeup that included heavy foundation, red blush and intense red lip.

The eyes were a concoction of vibrant colors: violet on the lash line, gray and brown blended on the socket and red and gold smoked up to the brow — every shade dramatically pulled out to the side. Shimmering pink powder highlighted the sides of the temples and the inner corners of the eye.

Hair was a slicked style that formed a tail at the back’. Via WWD

Move over sleek, straight hair! Crimping is the hottest thing under the sun right now! Crimping was the craze with Givenchy at NY Fashion week, and Karl Lagerfeld’s girls got their crimp on too. But they are not the only ones! At Christain Dior’s spring-summer 2009 haute couture show, the crimp was on the prowl again, but this time, for a more brushed out, suttle look. Im thinking of investing in a crimper… but be carefull, crimping can turn out bad (see pics bellow!)

Chloé Eyes the Eighties at NY Fashion Week

Christie Brinkley and Brooke Shields provided the inspiration for beauty at Chloé. Hair was all about the three Bs — big, beautiful and full of body.

Hair was blow-dryed and tonged into large curls, and then brushed out to leave soft, bouncy locks – no hair spray required!

Eyes were looking good with chocolate and shimmering gold shades. Cheeks and temples were defined with a strong sweep of blush in similar tones. Lashes were curled and given a generous coat of mascara, while lips only received a dab of balm and concealer to keep the look contemporary. Too pretty!
