Stop.the.bus.  The other day I came across ToyWatch and nearly wet my pants in excitement! Big, bright, colorful, oversized plastic watches. ToyWatch has been around since ‘05, created by Milan-based designer and Marco Mavilla,  there is a Flagship ToyWatch store Via Montenapoleone in Milan, but for those back in Aus ToyWatch is available at The Corner Shop, Sydney. Recession Jewels – Anna Davern’s new take on Bling

Australian jewellery designer Anna Davern has reinvented the rock, creating jewellery made from glossy paper cut-outs. The Melbourne based jeweller prints and adheres pictures to steel using sublimation. “I’ve used the technique to create oversized fake versions of traditional styles of jewellery. It’s kind of an homage to one of the initial tenets of Contemporary jewellery which was to react against the use of precious materials.
