Yes that’s right, “Now you can do it all – sculpt your brows, line and define your eyes – with the convenience and ease of a singular makeup palette”.  Gah!!!!!!! I want this so bad, it would look even better with the Taupe Le Vernis.  Kit includes an eyeliner, highlighter, 2 brow definers and 2 shadows……. ohhhhhhh.

On the other hand, the new Chanel Temporary body tattoos have me thinking otherwise…. I do like them! I think.  Im a little undecided?  “55 temporary tattoos, depicting ionic Chanel symbols and codes”

Somehow I can just see these tattoos going horribly wrong and tacky…. I can envision bogans catching onto the trend and getting permanent interlocking C’s tattooed onto their lower back……

Its a cross between a cat eye / Cleopatra look, but whichever way you look at it – its SMOKIN’. Makeup artist Mark Carrasquillo, worked his magic with MAC Cosmetics at the Giles RTW Spring 2009 show to give his new take on the cat eye.  Meow!

Carrasquillo created dark eyes using liquid eyeliner, Eye Shadow in Carbon and a double layer of false eyelashes. Cheeks were given a rosy hue with Powder Blush in Swoon, while the entire face was dusted with a heavy layer of white powder.

“There’s a spring cheek buried under powder,” Carrasquillo said.  Lips were coated in a blend of Lipsticks in Freckletone, Siss and Myth.

Hairstylist Samantha Hillerby kept hair young, fresh and modern, contrasting with the makeup.

‘Hillerby created an airy helmetlike look by first blow-drying hair using Label.M Volume Mousse. Hair from the lower half of the head was secured into a ponytail, while hair from the top of the head was brushed back from the face and pulled over the ponytail. Hillerby then pulled random strands of hair from the coif and finished the look with Label.M Hairspray.’ Via WWD.

According to WWD, ‘the Twilight beauty franchise has been separated into two lines. Volturi Twilight, named for a ruling vampire clan in the “Twilight” series, is aimed largely at teens and is launching the middle of next month at Hot Topic, Torrid and Ulta. Luna Twilight, a play on the moon themes in “Twilight,” is targeting older girls and teenagers’ mothers and is launching in the middle of next month at Nordstrom and Dillard’s. DuWop is also a part of the Twilight initiative and has introduced the lip stain Twilight Venom for $16 on Sephora.com. Prices for Volturi’s 21 stockkeeping units run from $9 to $19, and prices for Luna’s 35 sku’s are $18 to $34.’

I’m not a mega Twilight fan, but the Twilight Venom lip stain looks pretty cute!

FINALLY a night to go out!  It had been months since I had last glamed it up, slapped on the makeup and hit the town… So I was pretty excited to be going out.

So here I am, all dressed up and maked up – ie. Full works makeup – foundation applied with a shovel, false eyelashes and eyes so smokey you’d think its ash Wednesday.  As it hit 10.30 I was feeling kinda tired, it was raining outside, not the most enticing night to head out.  Before I head off Mum walks in to check me out.  “Sigh” she says.  “Why do you make yourself look so ugly?!”  Massive hit to the confidence!  As I look in the mirror I realise I do look a little bit ‘too much’… the falsies, the cat like eyeliner…. I could really give Amanda Lepore a run for her money.

According to my mother, (and others) I look a lot prettier natural.  Ie.. no makeup at all! (or maybe just less).  I don’t know if I agree with this…. Sometimes without my fake tan I look like an AIDS victim.  You can see the veins on my eyelids and my dark hair just makes me look like a Goth.  Not hot!  Now if I’m not wearing a tinsy bit of eyeliner or mascara I basically look like a naked mole rat… yes that’s right my face basically just blends into a blob as my eyes disappear… all you can see is these dark eyebrows and that’s it.  But on other occasions (such as tonight) I just look like crap!  Either I’m just really hopeless at applying makeup or I have to much on (quite possibly a bit of both!)

When this happens, your stuck.  Do you either wipe in all off and start again? (no time!)  Or maybe wipe a winsey bit off? (too tricky! Because then its like half half and doesn’t blend properly!)  DRAMA!  When this happens I tell my self that ‘it will look good in the photos’ and ‘well adleast it will be dark inside’.  But that is not a good thing to tell yourself!

I know night makeup is a little more heavier than day, but if you wouldn’t leave the house looking like a drag queen during the day, then why would you leave the house looking like a drag queen at night?!

Do you sometimes feel prettier when you are at home al natural?  Or are you more of a glamazon?  Eyes are the nipples of the face but sometimes I do feel that less is more… you just need to find a balance.

The fancy bottle is designed to represent the tail of a mermaid with pleats that twist around to mimic a splash.  Wonder what it smells like?  According to WWD, ‘Siren, created by Honorine Blanc with Firmenich, has top notes of juicy mandarin, apricot nectar, and frangipani, with a heart of honeysuckle, coconut orchid and water lily. The drydown consists of vanilla beans, sandalwood and creamy musk.’

The fragrance will be available in two sizes of eau de parfum, 1.7 oz. and 3.4 oz., priced $45 USD and $55 USD, respectively. There will also be a 6.7-oz. body lotion for $28 USD.

Thats right, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson is out for dollars with his new scent… Power.  “It smells like success,” according to Jackson, who poked fun at himself while in an interview with WWD. “I’m saying notes like I’m a professional, like I do this all the time,” he added with a laugh. “It’s my first time — got my training wheels on. But I’m going to get them off and I’m going to be riding like a big boy soon.”

‘The scent, which Jackson concocted with Firmenich’s Harry Fremont, has top notes of lemon leaves, black pepper and artemisia; a heart of dark woods (which Spilka said was inspired by the wood panels used in Bentleys), coriander and nutmeg, and a drydown of patchouli, musk and oakmoss.

With industry sources’ sales estimates running at $30 million to $40 million at retail worldwide for the first year, it could make quite an impact in his circle.’  The scent is expected to be launched internationally in 2010 so I don’t expect we will be seeing it in AUS for a while!

Two eaux de toilette will be offered: a 1.7 oz. for $50.50 USD and a 3.4 oz. for $68.50 USD.

Chanel’s favorite resort destination, the cool coral, sun-soaked red, sandy-pink beige, lush peach and shimmering copper rose hues define summer’s vibrant beauty.  What do you think? Hard to resist! 

“Very strong and powerful” is how makeup artist Pat McGrath described makeup that included heavy foundation, red blush and intense red lip.

The eyes were a concoction of vibrant colors: violet on the lash line, gray and brown blended on the socket and red and gold smoked up to the brow — every shade dramatically pulled out to the side. Shimmering pink powder highlighted the sides of the temples and the inner corners of the eye.

Hair was blow-dryed and tonged into large curls, and then brushed out to leave soft, bouncy locks – no hair spray required!

Eyes were looking good with chocolate and shimmering gold shades.  Cheeks and temples were defined with a strong sweep of blush in similar tones. Lashes were curled and given a generous coat of mascara, while lips only received a dab of balm and concealer to keep the look contemporary.  Too pretty!
