Dry clean your hair….. Dry Shampoo!

How many times has your hair looked great but your oily roots let you down?  Want to push that mid-week blow-dry out until Friday night drinks?  Get more days from your blow dry in-between washes with Dry Shampoo.  Its the ultimate must have for refreshing your hair and giving it a boost, especially when its looking a little flat!  Here are some of my favs.

Dry Shampoos!

Dry shampoos are quick, easy and convenient to use.  Its basically like a hair spray that comes out in a powder form that absorbs the oil.  All you have to do is spray dry shampoo on your hair in areas where it is looking a little flat, (middle part, crown, just near temples).  Dry shampoos usually come out in a white powdery form, turning your hair gray (I love impersonating Cruella de Vil when I use it!).  Once you have sprayed the bits that need a pick me up, brush it out until hair returns to normal, and voila!  Non-greasy, bouncy hair without having to wash!

re-absorbing the oil

The best value for money is Batiste Dry Shampoo at only $8.99 for 150mL.  They come in a variety of ’sents’ (Original, Blush and Tropical) do a good job and smell great.  My favourite is Blush!  Batiste Dry Shampoo also comes in a mini 50ml, $4.95 each.

My all time favoutire (but most expensive – $5.99 for 50mL! ) is the Lee Stafford Poker Straight Dry Shampoo.  Not only does it give your hair a lift, somehow it re-straightens your hair too!  This is also the best smelling of the lot!

Another dry shampoo you might have heard of is the Klorane Oat Milk Dry Shampoo.   Its better value for money than the Lee Stafford, but nearly double the price of the Batiste ($13.99 for 150mL).  The Klorane Dry Shampoo doesn’t really have a sent… but it does its job!  For alot cheaper price you might as well stick with the Batiste as it works just as well.

Dry Shampoos are such a godsend!  Perfect for an instant fix to get rid of the ‘greasies’.  Great for camping, humid weather, just after gym etc.  Sometimes when your hair is looking bad, the rest of your day goes bad too!  Horrary for Dry Shampoos!

Can't live without Dry Shampoo...

Hot tip:  Don’t use your Mason Pearson to brush it out, it makes your hair brush go all white and dusty!  Just use an old brush that you have at home.

Also, if you have overslept and need to ‘de grease’ do it before you shower… if you have just showered and moisturised the powder can stick to your face…

You also might want to cover your ear with your hand as you spray just above your ears!  (powder in the ears not good!)

Available at Priceline!

I agree! dry shampoo is a godsend! i am using the toni & guy dry shampoo atm. i can’t remember how much it was but it is a 200ml container. the spray is really fine and it has a nice, clean smell, but not what i would call a ‘pretty’ smell. i like the lee stafford one too, but didn’t last long!! i haven’t tried the klorane one but i’ve heard it’s a bit powdery – what do you think??

the lee stafford doesn’t last at all! :( I haven’t tried toni and guy, is it better than the lee? The most powdery one out of the lot would have to be Batiste, but I think the more powdery the better… they absorb the most oil! lol! I wouldn’t bother with Klorane… its good but the batiste is just the same! and half the price! xx

  3. bridget says:

I suppose the more powdery the better, but i worry that it won’t brush out lol! i haven’t had a good go with the toni & guy yet, but i will let you know how it compares with lee!

They sound really cool, but I just use baby powder, extremely cheap (probably doesnt smell as pretty unless you get scented stuff) but if you have blonde hair it just makes your hair look blonder, but if your hair is dark you just have to really rub it in or do it the night before to let the oil absorb so you dont have grey hair lol

I use a super fine powder called ‘Eve’ it’s a feminine powder lol but doesn’t give that grey/white look totally non irritating too.

good old strong hold hair spray works just as well- even the cheaper the beteer as they tend to really dry your hair out! just spay it on the roots and then brush out
